Aaron Felske
Civil Engineer - P.E., LEED APAaron has a unique ability to develop creative and efficient solutions for technical problems. He applies his abilities in his role as a Civil Engineer, as a key member of our Technology Team and to the items on his wish list. Aaron is driven to find the right solutions in every situation he encounters.
To describe Aaron, one might use words like - efficient, structured and serious. However, these miss the heart of his personality which is highlighted by creativity, loyalty and humor. The way Aaron expresses these in his everyday life is what makes him truly one-of-a-kind.
In his time away from work, Aaron enjoys camping with his family, maximizing the benefits of his Amazon Prime account and reconfiguring Nerf Guns for ultimate velocity.
Alexandrea Floyd
Architectural GraduateAlexandrea is an architectural graduate on the Kingscott team. Her attention to detail and organization skills are an asset to her projects and team members. She also has a knack for collaboration and communication and understands how vital these skills are for any successful project. Alex especially enjoys designing spaces for the disabled community to improve their interaction within a space.
When not putting her skills to use in design, Alex likes to go for daily hikes with her boyfriend and puppy, as well as reading, playing cards, and being a dog mom.
Amber Klavon
Interior DesignerAmber comes to Kingscott after spending the last five years working for a granite wholesale company, overseeing internal operations of the office and warehouse. Her design experience comes from her education at Lawrence Tech University where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture. She also has experience as a design intern where she utilized multiple formats of two- and three-dimensional design.
Austin Swidorski
People Operations CoordinatorStarting as an intern, Austin came onto the Kingscott team full-time after his graduation from Grand Valley State University. Working between both the Human Resources and Marketing departments, he has a passion for data analysis and research and development that not only helps us internally, but additionally as our clients work to pass bonds.
Beth Adams
Executive AssistantBeth ensures our company’s workflow runs smoothly. Her responsive and sunny nature help keep our senior team organized and on track. Beth finds success and satisfaction in providing support that llows us to deliver exceptional service to our clients. When she’s not scheduling our teams, she tries to make sure to schedule in time to enjoy sunshine, her son’s football games, and fun with friends.
Bill Briggs
Senior Living Specialist / QA QC - NCARBA Registered Architect since 1988, Bill has had the pleasure of serving communities throughout the state of Michigan in many aspects of architectural design. His experience includes libraries, healthcare, senior living, churches, K-12 schools, and higher education.
Bill’s recent engagement includes working for a senior living owner/operator that expanded its market from five senior living communities to 20+ communities over the last 13 years.
As the QA/QC at Kingscott, Bill is responsible for the independent peer review process on projects. He conducts a thorough document review to assure construction documents (drawings and specifications) are complete, accurate, and coordinated before they are issued for bid
and construction.
Brendon Pollard
Principal, Director of Planning & Design - AIA, CEFP, LEED APBrendon has over 30 years of experience at Kingscott and has dedicated his career to improving educational environments for students. Brendon works hard to keep our staff on the cutting-edge of educational design trends and fosters a collaborative team approach to providing the best learning environments.
From working together with his clients to formulate extraordinary solutions that help students succeed, Brendon possesses exceptional problem-solving skills. But if he does happen to catch a spare minute, he unwinds by playing a little Chopin, Rachmaninoff, or Schubert at the piano.
Cody Flowers
Graphic Designer & Content CreatorComing from a background in both agency work and in-house, Cody brings diverse graphic design and creative knowledge to the team. Having worked in a number of creative mediums, his Swiss-army-knife of skills brings a wide range of knowledge to the marketing team and our clients.
Dan Tryles
Principal, Director of Architecture - AIA, LEED AP BD+CDan has more than 20 years of experience managing projects and their design process. His creativity and attention to detail has helped clients translate their visions into reality, and his track record for budget and schedule management is outstanding. Dan works with all Kingscott clients and design teams to develop a customized sustainability plan, monitor its implementation and ensure your sustainable goals are met. He can coordinate your LEED certification submittals.
Dan enjoys being outside in the summer camping with this family, out on a boat, or fishing.
Dana McCLellan
Interior Designer - LEED AP ID+CAs an Interior Designer, Dana thrives on creativity and collaboration. Dana came to Kingscott as an intern while still attending Western Michigan University. After graduation, she secured a full-time position with the company and has been onboard ever since. She loves working with clients to define their goals and visions and then working to see those visions come to life. Dana says one thing she can’t live without is her co-workers. She’s energized by the creative flow and the dedication of working together to create the extraordinary.
Dana also loves playing on her volleyball league and spending time with her family. She’s proud of her two daughters and how respectful, playful, and fun they are.
Danielle Bohannon
Interior Designer - NCARB, NCIDQ, IIDADanielle has 12 years of experience in interior design and architecture. She has worked in client lead and project manager roles, creating project plans, timelines and documenting all design phases. She holds IIDA, NCIDQ and AIA Associate certifications. Danielle has a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and a Master of Architecture degree from Lawrence Technological University.
Hanna Burnham
Project Architect - RAHanna is a project architect at Kingscott. Her passion for design is fueled by the desire to make client's visions come to life. She’s also skilled at developing creative design solutions through her unique perspective.
When she’s not working to bring visions to life or developing efficient solutions, Hanna enjoys trying new foods, renovating her forever home, and traveling.
Jessica Rousseau
Project Architect - RAJessica is a goal-oriented, problem-solver. As a project architect, these traits serve her very well. Jessica has a knack for putting things together in an efficient and well-ordered manner. From product specifications to construction documents, Jessica takes pride in bringing her skills to service for her clients.
When not putting plans in motion at work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, playing hockey, and working on renovations to her historic home.
John Davids
Senior Planner - AIA, REFP, LEED AP BD+CJohn Davids has over 38 years of experience in architectural design and currently serves as the Senior Planner at Kingscott. He joined the firm in 2017 as a Senior Design Architect. His diverse career includes professional practice as a designer/studio leader, faculty member at three universities, and as Architect-in-Residence at Frank Lloyd Wright’s “Snowflake House.” In 1999, he was the recipient of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Michigan “Young Architect Award.” John has designed award-winning projects for school districts across the country, including Davison Community Schools, Novi Community Schools and Huron Valley Public Schools in Michigan. He has authored multiple architectural articles and co-edited “Tiger Stadium: Essays and Memories of Detroit’s Historic Ballpark.” John is REFP, LEED AP BD +C accredited.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, John is proud of achieving his goal to visit all 50 states with his family prior to his children graduating from high school. John’s favorite trip of that quest was visiting Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming.
Josie Neff
Interior DesignerBright, sunny and reliable are all accurate ways to describe Josie Neff. Josie graduated with a degree in Interior Design from Western Michigan University. A self-starter with an eye towards the future, Josie’s love of design is fueled by her passion and influenced by her love of travel and nature.
When she’s not working to support her co-workers, you’ll likely find her enjoying the warmer months at one of Michigan’s many campgrounds.
Judy Bethuy
Project Manager - LEED AP BD+CWith over 30 years in the industry, Judy is an experienced Project Coordinator and Architect. With a passion for the bigger picture, she loves integrating the MEP, Civil, and Architectural teams to work as a cohesive unit. As an award winning and LEED accredited professional, Judy is an amazing asset to any project.
Karl Erdei Lorincz
Senior Project Architect - RA, LEED AP BD+CKarl knows how to keep a team together. His nearly 30 years experience on projects big and small gives him the expertise to know what steps must be taken and how to keep the communication lines open to get a job done. Karl facilitates the team in the collaboration it needs so that its work fits into the larger project.
Karl has long been interested in art, and architecture drew him. He saw it as a practical application of arts to the real world. Karl got his architecture and structural engineering training at Technical Institute of Cluj in Romania. Then in 1987 he immigrated to the United States and became an American citizen in 1993.
Today, when the nice weather hits you are likely to find Karl outside hiking or walking the beach. He and his wife try to take an American and a European vacation each year.
Karol Bartlam
Project CoordinatorCompleting construction documents to produce awesome buildings is what drives Karol Bartlam. She’s also adept at coordinating her team members to complete tasks in a timely manner. She loves detail and accuracy and feels she was destined to be in the architectural profession. Her parents bought her first drafting table when she was in 5th grade; she took drafting in high school and graduated with an associate’s degree in drafting. From coordinating with consultants, clients and construction managers to double-checking codes, Karol is a vital member of our architecture team.
While architectural drafting is only one of her favorite kinds of draft, her other favorite draft is Atwater Vanilla Java Porter. Outside of drafting and craft beer tasting, Karol enjoys camping and spending time with her family and her pups, Memphis & Boop.
Kelly Shrauger
Director of Business DevelopmentKelly Shrauger is the Director of Business Development at Kingscott. Kelly works to initiate and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients as well as industry partners. Kelly is focused on driving growth through promoting the accomplishments of the Kingscott team, creating partnerships that result in bringing your vision to life. Kelly has over a decade of experience in the Michigan Education, Industrial, Medical, Commercial, and Government sectors as Director of Sales and Marketing in the Facility Services Industry.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys golfing, fishing, rockhounding, painting, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Kevin Lambert
Mechanical Engineer - PEWith over ten years of experience as a mechanical engineer, Kevin has been trusted by the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Little Ceasars Corporate, Google, and more. Even considering his work for such high-profile clients, he considers educational spaces to be his home. Passionate about environmentally conscious practices and innovative engineering, he believes that engineering is a team sport that is done best when each aspect of a project comes together to reach the best solution.
Kyla Scheuermann
Landscape ArchitectAs a landscape architect for 10 years, Kyla has experience in project design, construction documentation, project management and design team leadership. She focuses on the people and creative design and enjoys when projects with site challenges, client scope and design intent come together to bring a client’s vision to life.
Linda Sloulin
Architectural GraduateLinda is an Architectural Graduate of University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture. Linda enjoys collaborating with project teams to develop innovative approaches to problem-solving. As a recent graduate she offers a dynamic perspective to the project process. Linda assists the teams for the entirety of the project from concept to completion.
Not one to sit idle, if she’s not supporting her work teams, she enjoys helping her family with whatever they might need. Linda also loves traveling, home improvement projects, and her dogs.
Lisa Dailey
Executive Operations ManagerLisa keeps daily operations at Kingscott running smoothly and efficiently. She’s been with us for 35 years and it’s safe to say, there’s no one better suited to keeping our house in order. Lisa started out in reception, moved into accounting and now works on production and specs. In addition to overseeing daily operations, she can run a mean general construction bid. Lisa likes the lively atmosphere and the diverse people at Kingscott.
Lisa’s husband got her into bow hunting in her 30s, and she’s been hooked ever since. Now an accomplished bow hunter, Lisa takes down game so big she needs help hauling her kill out of the woods. Not only does she shoot record-breakers, she also grows them. She attributes the success of her 7 ft. tomato plants to a particular variety and some well-guarded secrets. Another little known fact about Lisa is that her great-great grandfather graduated in the first class of Civil Engineers in 1862 from MSU. He wrote a textbook on land surveying that was used in colleges until 1957.
Lisa Truscott
Director of MarketingLisa Truscott, Kingscott’s Marketing Director enjoys seeking information and finding answers. She is committed to learning and growing. This lends itself well to her exceptional problem-solving skills, and ability to analyze and interpret technical issues and communicate them succinctly. With over twenty years of experience in communications and corporate relations, Lisa utilizes her expertise to promote the work of Kingscott and engage our partners to cultivate lasting relationships.
In her free time, you can find her with her family along the shores of Lake Michigan, or creating one of kind tie-dye artworks.
Madison Cytlak
Interior DesignerA former Kingscott intern and Michigan State University alumnus, Madison is an Interior Designer with a passion for finding unique design solutions that marry both form and function. Her additional education in graphic design helped to inform her aesthetic and elevate her interiors work and her collaborative mindset ensures that each specific project is completed to the highest ability.
Martin Smith
Project ArchitectMartin has more than 30 years of experience in professional practice and architectural education. He is responsible for the technical and regulatory aspects of projects. Martin has a passion for creative problem-solving, architectural engineering and innovative construction systems.
Maureen Weatherby
Chief People Officer - PHRAs Chief People Officer (CPO), Maureen "Mo" Weatherby serves on Kingscott’s executive leadership team and oversees human resources (HR) strategy and initiatives. Her focus is to provide holistic HR support and drive processes related to employee experience, recruiting and retention, career and talent development, along with oversight and management of operations. The CPO position was created in 2023 as part of Kingscott’s continued commitment to align its organizational goals and objectives with diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and promote an exceptional company culture.
Mo has over 30 years of experience in the architectural and engineering industry. She was previously a member of the Kingscott team as an HR manager from 2017 to 2018. She rejoins the firm after serving in numerous HR roles, most recently the last five years in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Michelle Sawyer
Interior Designer - NCIDQAs an interior designer, Michelle is responsible for creating color layout plans, equipment plans, interior elevations, and furniture layout plans for final construction documentation. She also works to select, specify, and procure finishes, furniture, and equipment. Michelle has a passion for education design and enjoys guiding clients through all phases of the process.
Mukshatu Khanam
Project ArchitectGraduating in 2021 with her master’s degree in architecture from the University of Michigan, Mukshatu is a valued member of our Project Architect team. Trusted by brands like Starbucks, her skills and passions center around using architecture to create positive and uplifting spaces. Her goal with the work she does is to uplift communities by better understanding how spaces will be used with research and collaboration to create outstanding and functional designs.
Nick Warne
Videographer & Content CreatorA recent graduate of Grand Valley State University, Nick started at Kingscott as an intern. Now, a full-time marketing team member, Nick provides video services not only in-house, but also for our clients. His videos have been vital in helping schools to tell the stories of their students, staff, and the bonds that will support them.
Rob Atkins
President - P.E.Rob Atkins has been the President at Kingscott since 2019 and has more than 25 years of experience in engineering and project management for educational, municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential clients. In addition to providing direction for the company, he leads and manages several projects, working daily to Create Places You’ll Love. As a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) Rob joined Kingscott as a Civil Engineer in 2005. He has served as the Director of Engineering for the last eight years and as a member of the board for over a decade. Rob’s strength lies in his expertise and ability to lead a team collaboratively and efficiently, all while finding fun in the work.
Rob’s number one is priority is family. The Red Wings are a close second. When he’s not engaged in leading Kingscott’s engineering team Rob is the President of the Youth Hockey Association of Kalamazoo, serves on the Board of Directors for Pretty Lake camp and attends his sons’ numerous sporting events. Growing up in the UP and being raised in Marquette, Rob has a deep love of the great outdoors. Summers are spent camping with his family and friends and preparing his famous dish "The Brat Bath."
Romica Singh
Project Architect - AIA, NCARBA licensed architect, Romica has over 10 years of experience in design and construction. She has worked in firm settings as well as founded her own architectural design practice where she competitively bid and won the City of Birmingham Police Department/City Hall renovations and expansion project. She has also served as a consultant to the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) department at University of Michigan. Romica has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture (Digital Fabrication) degree from Lawrence Technological University. She holds AIA and NCARB accreditations.
Ryan Alm
Project Architect - AIA, NCARBRyan works as a Project Architect at Kingscott. He is committed to delivering great results for clients. His breadth of experience serves him well when he is working with clients to solve unique design challenges.
Ryan thrives on working together as a team to achieve results everyone can be proud of. When he has some time to himself, Ryan enjoys woodworking with digital fabrication, camping, and spending time with his family.
Samantha “Sami” Szeszulski
Design Architect - AIA NCARB, LEED Green AssociateSamantha "Sami" Szeszulski has over 10 years of experience spanning K-12 and higher education markets as well as libraries. She has been a member of the Kingscott team since July 2021, serving as a Design Architect and Project Manager. Sami has held AIA leadership positions at the local, state and national levels, and was named the 2018 AIA Detroit Associate Member of the Year. She was a scholar in the AIA Detroit Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program (CKLDP) and was a fellow in the highly competitive Challenge Detroit fellowship program. Sami holds degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy and Lawrence Technological University, where she has served as an adjunct instructor. She is a LEED Green Associate and holds an NCARB certificate.
Sami maintains the philosophy that architecture must follow the lead of its users and accommodate their needs - from the day-to-day, to the special occasion - and adapt over time to meet those needs. Sami views our clients and their communities as true partners in the design process, combining their expertise of the many functional needs of the space with her expertise in creative cohesive design solutions that adapt and grow with the users.
She aims for continual learning in both her personal and professional life. As a hobby, Sami enjoys exploring through traveling, camping, running, trying new restaurants, and learning and trying new things.
Sarah Haselschwardt
Senior Design Architect - AIA LEED AP BD+CSarah Haselschwardt has 30-plus years of experience leading project design across Michigan and the United States. A few of her notable designs include Fremont High School (MI), Chelsea High School (MI), and a new prototype elementary school for Washoe County School District in Nevada. She has served as vice president of the Southwest Michigan AIA, on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity, on her local planning commission, and was appointed to the Michigan Construction Code Commission for several terms. Sarah co-authored an article on women in architecture and was featured in the AIA’s “Women in Architecture” exhibit in Chicago. She is LEED AP BD+C accredited.
Sarah is as passionate about her family as she is about her work. She credits all of her talents to lessons learned as the youngest of five kids, and being the daughter of farmers, who learned from necessity how to fix or make almost anything. When she’s not working, she enjoys anything that means spending time with her large family. Her current favorite hobbies include golfing with her daughter and spectating at her kids’ many athletic events. For a little needed quiet time she also enjoys gardening and walking outdoors.
Sierra Yenshaw
Interior DesignerWe’re thrilled to have Sierra as a part of our growing Interior Design team. With five years of experience, a passion for children drew her toward Kingscott and our work in educational spaces. She enjoys collaborating and listening closely to the needs and opinions of the users that informs the designs to best fulfill a client’s specific needs.
Steve Lucas
Construction AdministratorSteve Lucas provides construction administration services on Kingscott projects. Steve’s goal is to build relationships and buildings that foster pride and positivity. He applies these values when monitoring projects, coordinating schedules and facilitating communication with project stakeholders. With over 30 years of experience in engineering and facilities management, Steve understands that establishing guiding principles at the start of a project is fundamental to its success.
A self-proclaimed motorhead, Steve enjoys restoring muscle cars from the 60s and early 70s, drag racing, and motorsports. He’s currently in the process of restoring a 69 ½ Plymouth Roadrunner. Outside of working on construction or car restoration projects, Steve’s favorite pastime is family time.
Steve Wisniewski
Construction AdministratorSteve Wisniewski is a construction administrator at Kingscott. As a former instructor for the Michigan Carpenters Apprenticeship Program, Steve's leadership skills and hands-on experience, provide a unique perspective and offer valuable input to Kingscott projects. Through thoughtful application, communication, and teamwork, Steve is able to develop practical solutions for project needs.
In addition to his professional ethics, Steve values the warmth that family and home provide. When he's not working on strengthening relationships in the field, he enjoys fishing, camping, and playing golf , as well as attending and volunteering at his children's sporting events.
Terrence “TJ” O’Connor
Chief Technical Architect - RA, LEED BD+CRealizing client vision through thoughtful project management is T.J.’s priority. He earned his Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Michigan and has been dedicated to client satisfaction ever since. He uses his 30+ years of experience to develop architectural solutions that bring client dreams to reality. In addition to his experience, careful listening, attention to detail, focus and dedication are the skills that allow him to successfully manage projects from concept to construction administration.
When he’s not busy helping clients realize their dreams, you’ll likely find him helping people in other ways. T.J. regularly donates blood and volunteers for the Older Persons Commission in Rochester & Auburn Hills delivering meals to the homebound. Outside of work and volunteering, T.J. enjoys being active, golfing, skiing, and good music.
Trevor Garland
Project CoordinatorAs Project Coordinator, Trevor Garland works alongside the architectural team to assist with project design and development. Trevor benefits the teams he’s a part of with his planning, design, technical knowledge, and his positive attitude. Prior to his work at Kingscott, Trevor worked as an architectural intern at Albert Kahn Associates. He enjoys hand sketching, traveling and playing volleyball.
Vince Murad
Project ArchitectVince Murad is a Project Architect at Kingscott and has over six years of experience in institutional, municipal, and retail projects. His responsibilities include overseeing the development and coordination of construction drawings and contract administration. Vince appreciates the process of communicating the needs of the client to the project team, and in turn, working in cooperation with the team to achieve a comprehensive and feasible result.
Away from work, he enjoys a good outdoor adventure. Hiking, bicycling, and kayaking are just a few ways Vince resets for the next great project.
