Big Rapids Elementary Schools

Originally introduced to the community in 1955, Brookside and Riverview Elementary Schools had not undergone significant improvements since the late 1990s. To modernize these beloved neighborhood schools, Big Rapids Public Schools partnered with Kingscott to reimagine and refresh their learning environments. Both schools received comprehensive upgrades that enhance comfort, durability, and functionality throughout, while also expanding capacity to support the district’s growing student population.

  • New roofing and flooring throughout
  • Updated air conditioning and ventilation systems
  • Modernized casework and ceiling systems
  • New furniture and finishes in classrooms and common areas
  • Four new classrooms added to each school
  • Improved energy efficiency and building systems
  • Enhanced accessibility and circulation
  • Refreshed learning environments support 21st-century education
