Saline Area Schools Middle School Recreation Complex & Renovation Project

Despite challenging weather conditions, a successful indoor groundbreaking ceremony was held this week to mark the start of the Middle School Recreation Complex and renovation project – a significant investment designed to support students, staff, and the broader community.

The new Recreation Complex will be located between the existing Middle School and Liberty School, providing convenient access for students, the new Senior Center, and programs housed at Liberty School. Designed as a shared community resource, the complex will support both school activities and public use.

Recreation Complex Features

The Middle School Recreation Complex will include:

  • Football field for middle school competitions and community events (artificial turf)
  • Soccer field for middle school competitions and community events (artificial turf)
  • 375 bleacher seats serving both soccer and football, with a shared press box
  • Competition baseball field and three softball fields arranged in a clover-leaf configuration for optimal viewing
  • Central pavilion located at the heart of the clover-leaf layout
  • Tennis and pickleball courts
  • Paved walking path
  • Designated area for food trucks
  • Restroom and storage building

In addition to the new outdoor amenities, the project includes a comprehensive renovation of existing facilities to expand programming and enhance learning environments.

Renovation Highlights

The remodel will transform the existing bus garage and middle school classroom spaces into:

  • An expanded and remodeled Saline Area Senior Center
  • New instructional space for Huron Valley Beauty Academy cosmetology students
  • Dedicated areas for Robotics and Science Olympiad programs
  • An updated woodshop to support enhanced STEAM curriculum
  • A new multi-media classroom
  • Dedicated space for Special Education Life Skills programming
  • Mechanical piping upgrades throughout the Middle School

This project reflects a commitment to creating flexible, multi-use spaces that serve students of all ages while strengthening connections between schools and the community.

Kingscott is excited to see these improvements take shape and looks forward to the positive impact they will have on staff, students, and the surrounding community. More updates will be shared as the project progresses.
