(August 30, 2023)

KALAMAZOO, Mich.– Architectural, engineering and design firm Kingscott Associates Inc. has expanded its staff and service offerings with the hiring of landscape architect Kyla Scheuermann. Scheuermann will partner with the Kingscott civil engineer team to create and develop comprehensive site planning and design.

“The addition of Kyla is the beginning of Kingscott expanding our site design group as we continue to evolve to best serve our clients and approach new markets,” said firm president, Rob Atkins. “Landscape architecture broadens Kingscott’s scope of services and opportunities as we create innovative and highly-functional designs that meet the needs of the client, user, and land. We look forward to working with current and future clients to re-envision outdoor spaces.”

Scheuermann has over 10 years of experience in project design, construction documentation, project management, and design team leadership. She focuses on the people and creative design and enjoys when projects with site challenges, client scope, and design intent come together to bring a client’s vision to life. Scheuermann is a 2010 graduate of Ball State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture with a minor in studio art.

“I am excited to join the Kingscott team and to help clients elevate and reimagine their sites and outdoor spaces,” Scheuermann said. “We want the outdoor space to be the first part in creating a memorable and enjoyable experience. Engineering is the bones of the site; design completes the project. Comprehensive site design can provide outdoor learning and workspace opportunities, while enhancing purpose, useability, sustainability, and safety.”
